Harrisburg – Sept. 18, 2018 – Over $1 million has been approved for five infrastructure improvement projects in the fourth Senatorial District, State Sen. Art Haywood (D-Philadelphia/Montgomery) announced today.

The Borough of Jenkintown received funding for two projects: sanitary sewer rehabilitation and Cedar Street drainage improvement. Cheltenham Township will work on main spot repairs for Elkins Park, Melrose Park, and Rowland Park. Awbury Arboretum will use these funds for pond restoration. Lastly, Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership is working on Jenkintown Creek Restoration of Alverthorpe Park.

“I’d like to thank State Representatives Madeleine Dean, Stephen McCarter, and Stephen Kinsey for their advocacy to secure these funds. I also thank the Commonwealth Financing Authority and Governor Tom Wolf for approving these critical infrastructure needs.” Haywood said.

“I am pleased to support the sewer, flood mitigation, and watershed restoration projects in the district,” Haywood said.  “These projects are a vital part of infrastructure improvements to protect our quality of life.”
