Harrisburg – November 22, 2016 – State Sen. Art Haywood (D-Philadelphia/Montgomery) along with representatives from the state Attorney General’s office will be holding a live Telephone Town Hall on Monday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. to discuss consumer protection strategies and tips. 

Telephone Townhall“I am honored to have top level crime fighters from the attorney general’s office join me for a live telephone town hall discussion of ways consumers can be protected from scams and fraud,” Haywood said.  “Especially during the holiday season, consumers need to wary of rip-offs and cheats.”

During telephone town halls, citizens have the opportunity to be active participants, Haywood noted.  They can join in the discussion, listen and ask questions.  Questions can also be submitted using an online form.   

“My guests from the attorney general’s office are experienced in identifying cons and swindles.  They will able to outline strategies consumers can use to avoid becoming caught up in deceptive schemes.”

Haywood said the Director of Office of Consumer Protection and a senior agent from the attorney general’s office will be on hand for the hour-long talk.
