ABINGTON- March 23, 2015 – State Sen. Haywood made the following comments in response to data unveiled by the U.S. Department of Education on school district funding across the country:
“The report from the U.S. Department of Education that Pennsylvania is the worst state in the nation in fair funding of low-income students is devastating. In Pennsylvania, low-income students who need the most are supported the least. We are worse than some of the most impoverished states in our nation. We have lost our way. I am ashamed of the moral bankruptcy that has created this level of injustice in our state, but will work hard to end it.”
