Mt. Airy USA Community Development Corporation was awarded a grant from the Wells Fargo Regional Foundation to conduct a comprehensive 10-year neighborhood development plan.
The $100,000 grant was awarded through a multistate competition. It allows Mt. Airy USA to formulate a community driven plan that establishes a 10-year roadmap for the Mt. Airy community. Anuj Gupta, executive director of community development corporation Mt. Airy USA, said the location of the press conference where the grant was awarded, Mt. Airy Pleasant Playground, was symbolic. The playground recently benefited from a $3 million overhaul that was years in the making.
