NORTHWEST PHILADELPHIA >> Three area churches are challenging the Northwest Philadelphia area on the traditional concept of church.
First, the new Dare to Imagine Church held its Only Imagine Gala and Sunday morning worship service the weekend of Sept. 8 to 10, kicking off at the City Avenue Hilton.
The inaugural worship service drew more than 300 from around the Delaware Valley and around the nation. The new congregation is housed on the Mt. Airy campus located at 6611 Ardleigh St., the former home of the old St. Therese Catholic Church. The edifice is still undergoing drastic renovations, but the energy from those who gathered was still high.
