Poverty Listening Tour

Many residents across Pennsylvania and the United States are living in poverty. At its core, poverty is the lack of adequate money and financial resources to meet basic needs. Access to adequate resources are not just about overcoming personal or individual barriers – it is important to recognize that government policies and social service support system failures hamper the ability of individuals to become self-sufficient. To better understand the depth and breadth of poverty and how it affects our communities, Senator Art Haywood visited multiple regions throughout Pennsylvania in 2019.
