Harrisburg – November 12, 2019 – Sen Art Haywood (D- Montgomery/Philadelphia) announced today that $850,000 had been awarded to Chestnut Hill College for transportation improvements.

“Chestnut Hill College is a great stakeholder in this community, and I am very pleased that the roadway improvements to their campus are receiving the funding from the state that they need to keep both students and residents safe,” Haywood said.

Chestnut Hill College will receive $850,000 in Multimodal Transportation fund grants, distributed by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. The college will use the funds for their Travelways Improvement Plan to improve both walkways, roadways, access to public transportation, and proper signage along main roadways.

“This funding will allow this section of the city to become more easily connected and will allow all who travel here to feel safe as the walk, bike, or drive,” Haywood said.
