Philadelphia, PA – March 13, 2018 — Senator Art Haywood (D-Montgomery/Philadelphia) is joining together with community partners to host an upcoming expungement clinic on 17 March 2018.
The expungement clinic is designed for area residents who have arrests without convictions, or misdemeanors in the Montgomery County area and serves as a chance to get records cleaned for minor offenses and as a result, opens opportunities without the fear of being penalized for certain prior offenses. “If you have an adult case in Montgomery County or a misdemeanor, or an arrest without conviction, you may be able to get it cleared so it does not block your future.” said Senator Haywood.
The Criminal Record Expungement Community Clinic will take place this Saturday, 17 March from 9a.m.-4p.m. at Arcadia University in Glenside and will feature resource tables and workshops designed for residents to learn about community services. Arcadia Pan African Studies Department, Arcadia University’s Sociology/Anthropology, and Criminal Justice Department, Black Male Development Symposium, Cheltenham Branch of the NAACP, Family Services of Montgomery County, Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Melanin in Action (Arcadia University), Office of Public Engagement for the PA Office of the Attorney General, Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity, Salem Baptist Church of Jenkintown, Toll Public Interest Center University of Pennsylvania Law School, Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law Pro Bono Society, and the Young Democratic Socialists of America Arcadia University are co-sponsoring this event.
