Access to coverage:
On Marzo 23, 2010, President Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act into law. It is more commonly known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or Obamacare. This act changed the healthcare system by requiring everyone in the U.S. to have health insurance. Pennie is Pennsylvania’s official health and dental coverage marketplace and the only place to get financial assistance to help lower the cost of coverage and care. Pennie’s Open Enrollment Period runs yearly from Noviembre 1 to Enero 15. This is the yearly period when you can buy health insurance. Low cost and free plans are available.
From Noviembre 1, 2023 through Enero 15, 2024, neighbors may enroll for health insurance on Pennie’s website here, or call 1-844-844-8040 to speak to Pennie’s friendly and experienced Customer Service Representatives.
Some neighbors are eligible for a Special Enrollment Period, which allows you to enroll in health insurance outside the yearly Open Enrollment Period. Changes in circumstances, such as getting married, having a baby, or losing health coverage, can make you eligible. See more Qualifying Life Event (QLE) here.
