Harrisburg – October 16, 2018 – Sen. Art Haywood (D-Philadelphia/Montgomery) will join fellow elected officials to host a news conference on lead testing in Pennsylvania schools in Harrisburg on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 10:00 a.m. in the Media Center at the Pennsylvania State Capitol, N 3rd St, Harrisburg, PA 17120.

In response to receiving a statewide grade of “F” for testing for lead in schools in the Get the Lead Out study by the PennEnvironment Research and Policy Center, Senator Haywood will discuss necessary steps to remedy the toxic conditions, which includes the new requirement for all 501 school districts to either test their water for lead or hold a public hearing to discuss the issue and address why the school decided not to test for lead.
