PHILADELPHIA, July 14, 2015: State Senator Art Haywood has announced that he will open a district office in Philadelphia on Monday, July 20. Haywood, who has additional offices in Abington and Harrisburg, represents parts of both Northwest Philadelphia and Eastern Montgomery County.

The new district office will be located at 7104-7106 Germantown Avenue, at the corner of Mount Pleasant Avenue in Mount Airy. Haywood, who was sworn-in as state senator in January, said he hoped to increase ease of access to state services through the new office. “Accessibility to pedestrians and public transportation was a priority in choosing the location,” he said. “I am glad we will finally have an office in Philadelphia to serve more of our neighbors.”

The senator’s district offices assist constituents with: rent and property tax rebates; applications for public benefits, birth and death certificates; SEPTA senior passes; utility assistance and many other services. Neighbors are invited to meet the senator and his staff at a grand opening reception on Wednesday, July 22 from 4 – 6 PM.
