Senator Art Haywood made the following statement on the passage of Senate Bill 3:
Harrisburg, May 14, 2015: “The passage of Senate Bill 3 has brought hope to families across our Commonwealth who have been suffering without remedy. I was glad to stand with a bi-partisan group of my colleagues in the state Senate today in support of this legislation, which, if passed in the House, will have an enormous impact on the lives of sick children, adults and caregivers in Pennsylvania.
Medical cannabis presents our state with the possibility of bringing healing to those who suffer from seizures, cancer, PTSD and many other debilitating illnesses. It also provides Pennsylvania with opportunities for further economic growth through new jobs and increased tax revenue. I am proud of the compassion and wisdom shown by the Senate in passing Senate Bill 3.”
