HARRISBURG – November 14, 2017 – Senator Art Haywood (D, Philadelphia/Montgomery) today announced more than $1.3 million in funding, to be awarded to several projects throughout the 4th Senatorial District dedicated to the improvement of their respective communities.

“Preserving the natural resources and beauty and enhancing infrastructure, ensures prosperous communities we can all enjoy,” Haywood said. “I am very happy to help make this a possibility for several deserving initiatives in my district.”

Made possible through the Commonwealth Financing Authority, a program within the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, Senator Haywood facilitated grants to the following organizations:

Abington Township

  • “Connecting Abington & Jenkintown: Complete Streets Plan” – $1,000,000
  • “Ardsley Wildlife Sanctuary Water Quality Improvements” – $100,000

Friends of the Wissahickon

  • “Kitchen’s Lane Bank Restoration Project” – $113,000

Cheltenham Township

  • “Brookdale Avenue Pump Replacement” – $112,000
