HARRISBURG, January 20, 2017 – Senator Art Haywood was named today as a member of the Pennsylvania Senate Appropriations Committee. Mid-way through his first term, this will be Senator Haywood’s first session serving on the committee.
“It’s an honor to be selected,” said Haywood. “Combined with my membership in the Finance Committee, this appointment will better position me to participate in priority-setting and the allocation of resources for the Commonwealth.”
In addition to this new role during the 2017-2018 session, Senator Haywood will serve as Chairman for the Aging and Youth and Communications and Technology committees, and continues his membership in the Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure, Environmental Resources and Energy, Health and Human Services, Judiciary and Urban Affairs and Housing committees.
“Many challenges face us in the weeks and months ahead. I am glad to have the opportunity to continue to push for progress, working alongside my colleagues in committees and otherwise.”
