HARRISBURG – June 19, 2015 – State Senator Art Haywood made the following comments in response to the unanimous 16 June passage of a Pennsylvania Senate bill to increase funding for 911 communications:
“This week, I joined my Senate colleagues by voting in favor of legislation that would provide much-needed funding to improve emergency calls for citizens in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties, and across our commonwealth. As technology advances in the 21st century, our 911 response system must take into account and adapt to new forms of communication. Through a better-funded 911 fund, we can ensure that the safety of Pennsylvanians continues to be a priority.”
